With just one mistake, Samuelsson was unstoppable in the final mass start. The Swede, who claimed his fifth victory overall, won by five seconds over French rising star Erric Perrot. Norwegian Endre Strømsheim finished third, ahead of fellow countryman and overall World Cup winner Sturla Holm Lægreid.
Johannes Thingnes Bø finished seventh in his grand farewell. The Norwegian missed four shots and thus missed a final podium finish. Nevertheless, Bø was celebrated in the finish stadium in Oslo, as was his brother Tarjei, who finished 23rd.

Tommaso Giacomel was the only Azzurro competing in the mass start. The Trentino native finished 8th. Without Giacomel, it would have been a season to forget for Italy's biathlon team. The 24-year-old has definitively established himself among the world's elite.
