Vittozzi in pursuit on the podium – Wierer 11.

After taking second place in the sprint, the exceptional German athlete Laura Dahlmeier went one better on Saturday and took her first win of this winter. Dahlmeier beat the Slovakian Anastasiya Kuzmina, who ended up in second place despite four shooting errors.

Third place went to Lisa Vittozzi: The 22-year-old from Veneto already demonstrated her strong form with fourth place in the sprint on Thursday and went one better on Saturday with the second podium finish of her career.

The first shooting was Wierer's undoing Dorothea Wierer finished the pursuit in 11th place and was able to gain four positions compared to the sprint. In the end, even more would have been possible if the Niederrasner woman, who is not completely physically fit, had not missed twice at the first shooting range stop. Afterwards, Wierer presented himself flawlessly both on the cross-country ski trail and on the shooting range (with zero mistakes). Federica Sanfilippo finished the competition in 29th place.

In the afternoon the men will compete in their pursuit from 14.45 p.m., while the mass starts for men and women will take place on Sunday.

The women's pursuit took place in Le Grand-Bornand on Saturday morning. Laura Dahlmeier celebrated her first World Cup victory of the season, while Lisa Vittozzi made it to the podium. The first shooting was fatal for Dorothea Wierer.
