The challenging, perfectly prepared course demanded everything from the nearly 100 female runners. In the first run, Estelle Alphand took the lead with a lead of over half a second ahead of the Austrian Leonie Raich.
In a thrilling second run, Alphand couldn't defend her lead from the first run and slipped in the final stretch. Aline Hoepli took the victory in Ahrntal, ahead of Natale Falch and Beatrice Sola, and can thus celebrate being crowned "Queen of Goasleitn".
Among the South Tyrolean athletes, Celina Haller from Schenna managed to collect some European Cup points with her 26th place finish. Laura Steinmair from Olang finished 33rd. The competition continues tomorrow, Saturday, with the second women's slalom on the Goasleitn slope.
