VIDEO | Tabanelli siblings make history

Miro and Flora Tabanelli are Italy's big freestyle hopes for the Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. They proved this again this weekend, celebrating the greatest successes of their careers.

The most important and prestigious title in freestyle sport is the Olympic Games. Another competition that everyone wants to win is the X-Games. The invitational event, which takes place annually in the USA, took place in Aspen in the last few days. With Flora and Miro Tabanelli, two Italians took on a leading role - and in the same discipline.

The siblings left everyone behind in the Big Air. Flora showed a 1440 in the women's competition and won gold. The 17-year-old spun around her own axis four times during this jump. The American Grace Henderson came second, and the Frenchwoman Tess Ledeux came third. The athlete from Livigno had only won her first World Cup victory at the Kreischberg in early January. Tabanelli is the first Italian to win X-Games gold.

24 hours later, things got even better for the Tabanelli family, as Miro also took the win in the Big Air. He spun around his own axis six and a half times. No athlete had ever successfully completed such a jump before. The 20-year-old relegated New Zealander Luca Harrington and Austrian Matej Svancer to second and third place.
