Sweden beats Norway

The Swedish cross-country skiers made a statement in the World Cup mixed relay in Engadin (Switzerland).

So far this season, the Swedish cross-country skiers have been clearly outdone by their Norwegian neighbors. But on Friday afternoon, Emma Ribom and Co. triumphed confidently over their opponents in the Swiss Engadin. Norway had to settle for second place, 19,5 seconds behind, while the Swiss narrowly took the last podium spot.

The second Norwegian team missed the podium just 0,5 seconds behind. Austria's cross-country skiing team with Mika Vermeulen, Teresa Stadlober, Benjamin Moser and Katharina Brudermann finished the World Cup mixed relay over 4 x 5 km in eighth place. They were 1:11,8 minutes behind the winner Sweden. Italy came in 13th (+1:59,2).
