The Tyrolean, who was in second place after the jumping, clearly prevailed in the 10km cross-country course in 23:59,4 minutes, 27,4 seconds ahead of Finland's Ilkka Herola and 41,6 seconds ahead of jump winner Julian Schmid (GER). It was Lamparter's second win of the season, and he is still fighting for third place in the overall standings at the final. The only South Tyrolean, Aaron Kostner, finished 34th.
"Unfortunately, we couldn't jump today. There was too much wind on the hill, so we used the PCR, and I had a really good jump there," said Lamparter, referring to the provisional competition jump from the previous day that was included in the rankings. "The race wasn't easy today; the conditions were compact, icy, and deep. But I felt incredibly good and had incredibly good skis," said the Tyrolean.
