Evelin Lanthaler is lurking behind Ekatharia Lavrentjeva, but she would have to break the Russian's winning streak in order to still have a chance of winning the overall World Cup. What is more realistic is that there is a bitter fight between the three South Tyroleans Greta Pinggera, Melanie Schwarz and Lanthaler for second place behind Lavrentjeva. In the three races so far this winter, everyone was able to be happy about finishing behind Lavrentjeva once.

In the men's competition, only the Austrian Thomas Kammerlander has managed to beat Patrick Pigneter once. At the last World Cup two years ago and also in 2006, Kindberg was one of the few races that Pigneter couldn't win. Pigneter's competition will certainly do everything they can to ensure that this is the case this year too.

The situation is somewhat different in the doubles competition. Patrick Pigneter/Florian Clara won this in Kindberg two years ago. In the overall World Cup, however, they are only 45 points ahead of their eternal rivals Pavel Porshnev/Ivan Lazarev from Russia and the Austrian brothers Christian and Andreas Schopf. However, if you want to overtake Pigneter/Clara in the overall World Cup, you have to be ahead of the “Azzurri” in Kindberg.
