Adventurous journey ends: ski ace quits

The Swiss ski racer was kicked out of the Swiss Ski squad in the winter of 2018/19 and was then able to fight his way back. After the 2022/23 season he failed again due to the selection hurdles and attacked one last time. Over the course of last winter, however, his doubts grew and he felt that he was no longer fully committed to his work.

“I have dedicated every day of my life for the last 10 years to following my dream of becoming one of the best in the world,” Kippel wrote in his Instagram post. “Lately I've felt like that fire to keep pushing myself to 100 percent is waning and I'm not willing to put in the same energy and time. I suffered from self-doubt and signals that showed me that if I wasn’t completely convinced, I wouldn’t compete with the best.”

An emotional farewell In his emotional contribution, Kippel emphasized how much skiing has given him and how grateful he is for the experiences and experiences. “Skiing gave me more than I could ever imagine. I loved spending so much time in nature, having the best time with wonderful people, traveling and discovering amazing places,” he wrote. He also reports how proud he is of his achievement.
