Injured at World Championships: Bad news for ski star

A Canadian downhill star suffered a serious injury at the Ski World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.

Cameron Alexander is out for at least the rest of the ski season. As it later emerged, the 27-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament tear in his left knee when he fell in the second training session for the World Cup downhill in Saalbach-Hinterglemm on February 6th.

As a result, he missed the start of the World Cup Super-G the following day. Alexander finished third in the downhills in Bormio and Kitzbühel this season, and has since undergone surgery. He will now not be able to put on skis for at least six months.
