Bittersweet ending: first on the podium, then seriously injured

He already took first place at the FIS giant slalom in Davos and is currently in the top 100 of the FIS world rankings in Super-G. We're talking about speed driver Andri Moser. At the Swiss Championships in Zinal last week he took third place behind Denis Corthay and Lars Roesti. It is his first time in the top 23 in the title fight and he did so straight away with an incredible third place. Moser has been driving for Switzerland's B squad since 2023.

But the young talent's aspirations were suddenly interrupted shortly after his success: just two days after the race in the canton of Valais, the 22-year-old was injured. He tore his anterior cruciate ligament. He shared a video of the winning descent on Instagram and wrote: “A bittersweet end to the season. Won bronze in the Super-G Swiss Championship. Scored under 23 points for the first time. But two days later I tore my cruciate ligament. I can walk again and am grateful for the support I receive."

In the comments, his colleagues joke that the “speed” will probably be over in the near future. Such an injury usually heals completely after four to six months. Whether this will be a problem for the coming season remains to be seen.
