A ski champion in baby bliss.

The world's largest ski baby is on the way

The first speed races of the season took place this weekend. It will be a very special winter for a World Cup winner, and that is not just for sporting reasons.

Bryce Bennett is an exceptional phenomenon in the skiing circus. With a height of 2,01 meters, the star downhill skier is one of the tallest athletes. This is probably one of the reasons why the American announced his private news on Instagram in a particularly amusing way: "The tallest baby in the world is coming in March 2025."

Bennett and his wife Kelley (they married in the summer of 2022) are going to be parents for the first time. The post caused amusement in the skiing world. "It would be good if you could teach him your basketball skills," commented former World Cup winner Steven Nyman with a wink.

But it is also clear that the offspring will be equipped with many skiing genes, after all, dad Bryce is a two-time World Cup winner. Curiously, he achieved both victories on the Saslong in Val Gardena. In 2021 and 2023, Bennett was at the top of the South Tyrolean downhill classic, with his victory a year ago in particular causing great astonishment. Back then, he sensationally raced to first place with starting number 34 - a crazy race.

At the start of the season, Bennett made a name for himself with a strong 6th place in the downhill race in Beaver Creek. But his highlight is still to come: in two weeks the races will take place in Val Gardena. And who knows, maybe the "biggest baby in the world" is already giving him wings.
