The second Gröden training session has been cancelled.

The second training run scheduled for Wednesday on the Saslong course has been cancelled due to persistent snow and rain showers. The cancellation is intended to protect the slope in preparation for the three upcoming races.

The decision to cancel the second practice run was made by the race jury on Wednesday morning in consultation with the organizing committee of the Saslong Classic Club. The combination of wet snow and rain made further stress on the track unwise, which is why the practice was cancelled in preparation for the races.

The Wednesday training session had originally been brought forward from 11:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. due to weather conditions, in order to preempt a possible deterioration of the weather around midday. However, the renewed change in the weather made even the earlier start time impossible.

This is what the program looks like.

This means that Val Gardena will only host one downhill training run, which already took place on Tuesday. From Thursday to Saturday, three speed events are scheduled on the Saslong course: The sprint downhill on Thursday, followed by the traditional Super-G on Friday, and the classic downhill on Saturday. All three races are scheduled to start at 11:45 a.m.
