Italy's World Cup squad has been confirmed: Karoline Pichler is back

The biggest surprise in a positive sense is Karoline Pichler, who managed to return to the World Cup group after an almost endless period of suffering, multiple meniscus and cruciate ligament tears and a long period of poor form. The 26-year-old from Petersberg scored her last World Cup points almost two and a half years ago when she achieved her best career result with 16th place in the Kronplatz giant slalom. Pichler has shown a strong improvement in form over the past few months and recommended himself for the World Cup group in the European Cup races and the final Italian Championships.

As expected, there are two more South Tyroleans: Nadia and Nicol Delago. On the other hand, Verena Gasslitter, who initially fought her way back to the World Cup last season, was completely eliminated was again derailed by injuries and had to undergo fibula surgery at the end of February .

The young Pusterers Elisa Schranzhofer and Laura Steinmair, together with Celina Haller, can recommend themselves for higher tasks in the European Cup. Alexander Prast is no longer part of the permanent World Cup squad. The Terlan has to follow suit his serious knee injury fight their way back through Group 2 – as does Florian Schieder, who has been there since his fall at the World Championships in Cortina hasn't competed in any more races.
