A farewell breaks Lindsey Vonn's heart

She said goodbye to her long-time home of Vail (Colorado, USA) with an emotional text. The ski pensioner – who had lived there since she was 12 – owned a luxury property in the posh winter sports resort, which she has now sold for just over $4 million. The words she posted on social media are emotional. “Selling my home and moving from Vail was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I had so many memories that I will take with me forever. My family is still in Vail - and I'll be back, that's for sure," writes Vonn, who has now made her home in California with her fiancé PK Subban. Vail reminds too much of skiing Vonn ended her ski career a year and a half ago. That's why it's time for the 82-time World Cup winner to start a new chapter. “My time as a skier is over. I have to move on. Being near the skiing action is difficult for me at the moment because it reminds me of my injuries and pain. Hopefully that will change one day.” The fact that Vonn left his mark in Vail is also evident in another thing. When the most successful female skier of all time achieved her 63rd World Cup victory, a ski route in Vail was named after Lindsey Vonn. “I would like to personally thank every single member of the community who has supported me throughout my career,” writes the American in her farewell message.
