A broken ski heart – again

Storm Klomhaus is 25 years old and is actually one of the USA's skiing hopes. If, yes, if it weren't for her long medical history. Despite her young age, the US girl has already had to go through skiing hell several times. Now she has suffered the next bitter setback.

But first things first. Last December, Klomhaus ended up in hospital - again. During downhill training in Beaver Creek, the US lady fell and tore a cruciate ligament in her knee. Unbelievable, but true: It was already her fourth cruciate ligament tear. While other athletes would have given up long ago, that was out of the question for Klomhaus. The skier from Colorado fought back this time too and wanted to attack again this year. But that didn't happen.

A few days ago, Klomhaus (she is the girlfriend of ski ace River Radamus) was seriously injured again. This time her knees remained intact, but her foot was hit: the severe diagnosis was a broken ankle.

She wants to come back "Unfortunately, I broke my ankle during training in Saas-Fee," Klomhaus wrote, adding a clear emoji: the broken heart. Despite this bad news, the young skier remains optimistic. "I'm happy that my knee isn't affected. I'll undergo an operation at home so that I can hopefully be back on the snow soon. So don't miss me too much," she said with a wink. Klomhaus has competed in the World Cup twice so far.
