It was the moment that caused great alarm in the ski world on Thursday. Michelle Gisin, two-time Olympic combined champion, suffered a bad fall during training in St. Moritz. The Swiss skier's skis caught an edge at high speed, causing her left knee to make an unnatural movement. The 32-year-old then crashed into the safety netting with full force. The race had to be interrupted for half an hour, and Gisin was airlifted to the hospital.
The extent of the injury is currently unclear. However, Swiss women's head coach Beat Tschuor now provides information in a video interview with View A first update. "She was responsive on the track, that's important! Her neck and back are also fine," says the coach.

He added: “My left knee gave way. My right arm is also affected, apparently my wrist. However, I can't say how serious the injury is.” Gisin is currently undergoing thorough examinations at a nearby hospital, and the exact diagnosis is expected within the next few hours.
Black streak in the Swiss women's team
"It's certainly tough," says head coach Tschuor, referring to his injury list. Besides Gisin, Lara Gut-Behrami (torn cruciate ligament) and Corinne Suter (who will be out for about a month) have also been sidelined. Three Swiss superstars are currently out. "Nobody likes a run like this. They are all very good and highly trained athletes, but we have to deal with it. Unfortunately, that's part of the sport."Edit Profile
