It was a wedding that delighted many ski stars. Last September, two-time Olympic silver medalist Ragnhild Mowinckel married her longtime boyfriend Mathias Tangenes at the exquisite Castello di Montignano in Umbria. In attendance were not only friends and family, but also big names from the skiing world. Joana Hählen, Kajsa Vickhoff Lie, Nina Haver-Löseth, and Tina Weirather, who attended the ceremony and were thrilled.
After this dream day, Mowinckel's next highlight is now upon her. As the Norwegian announced on Instagram, she will soon become a mother for the first time. The four-time World Cup winner showcased her beautiful baby bump in photos and captioned the post: "Life is getting bigger – literally. I'm so excited for this new 'expansion package' with sleepless nights, a little 'human sticker' that's always with me, and many new adventures."
There was no shortage of well-wishers among the photos; after all, Mowinckel was one of the most popular athletes during her time as a skier. She has been in ski retirement for a year now, and her departure caused many tears, especially from her close friend Kajsa Vickhoff Lie.
Mowinckel is considered one of the best skiers in Norwegian history. She has reached the World Cup podium 14 times, including four top finishes. She also won two bronze medals at World Championships and crowned her career with two silver medals at the Olympic Games. Now, with the arrival of her baby, comes the greatest victory of her life.
