“Guess who's back”: Corinne Suter's comeback

"Guess who's back?" With these words, Corinne Suter returned to Instagram today after a months-long injury break. The Swiss Olympic champion and 2021 world champion is currently working on her big comeback in snow training.

The 2023/24 season began with a dramatic setback for Suter: During the downhill race in Cortina d'Ampezzo in January, the speed specialist suffered a tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and a meniscus injury in her left knee.

After a difficult landing maneuver, the Swiss athlete had to stop with a face contorted in pain, while the race continued on the Olimpia delle Tofane. Just a few hours later, the Swiss Ski Association confirmed the devastating diagnosis.

The 30-year-old is currently training in Copper Mountain, USA, to get fit for the upcoming World Cup season. The focus is particularly on the first speed race of the season, which is scheduled to take place on December 14 and 15 in Beaver Creek (USA). It is still unclear whether she will actually be competing there, but the signs are good that it will not be long before the ski world can admire Suter on the slopes again.

With her return, Suter once again proves the unwavering will that has already made her one of the most successful athletes of her generation. Olympic gold in the downhill in Beijing 2022 and the world championship title in 2021 underline the Swiss athlete's outstanding talent.
