Ski Queen has found her new love.

“Yes, we are a couple”: Ski queen is newly in love

Only recently it was surprisingly announced that her relationship had ended, but now an Olympic and world champion skier is back in love.

Last August, Maria Höfl-Riesch (40) caused a stir with a message on Instagram. After 13 years of marriage, she has separated from her husband Marcus Höfl. "It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to go our separate ways in the future," wrote the former overall World Cup winner.

Five months after the separation and around two weeks after the divorce was finalised, Höfl-Riesch's heart is shining again: The 40-year-old is newly in love - with Johann Schrempf (62), who works as General Manager on the luxury cruise ship MS Europa II. "Yes, we are officially a couple. It feels good," Höfl-Riesch told the Picture.

There have been rumors for some time

This confirmed the rumors that had been circulating in the gossip press for the past few months. Photos had already surfaced at the beginning of November showing Höfl-Riesch kissing Schrempf at an after-show party for the Bambi Awards. Now the relationship is official.

Höfl-Riesch is happy "that something new worked out so quickly." And: "Johann and I just have great chemistry. We're on the same wavelength, he makes me laugh. Very important: we have common interests. He's a good skier, he goes to the mountains and of course he likes to travel - just like me. We're just a good fit."

As the former skier of the Gala revealed that she and Schrempf have been friends for ten years. "But a relationship was never an option for me, since I was with Marcus. It only became more of a relationship in the summer, when Marcus and I were separated. Then it clicked."
