End of career: Lindsey Vonn with a clear plan

Exceptional ski racer Lindsey Vonn is causing a sensation in her comeback winter. Now the American has explained how much longer she wants to be involved.

Vonn wants to continue her second career as an athlete for one more year at most. Then the Winter Olympics will take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo on one of her favorite courses. "I would never do it beyond that," the 40-year-old American told the AP news agency. "That would be a great way to end things once and for all."

Vonn recently returned to the World Cup after a break of almost six years. Despite a partial knee replacement, she impressed in her first races, finishing sixth in the downhill and fourth in the super-G in St. Anton.

Minor training crash on favorite slope

At the World Cup in Cortina this weekend, some observers believe she could make it onto the podium. She fell in the first training session on Thursday, but according to her own account, she only suffered a few scratches and no serious injuries.

Since the 2010 Olympic champion and two-time world champion announced in the fall that she would be racing again, there had been speculation about a possible Olympic goal next winter. "I'm definitely thinking about it and hope that I can make it there," she said.
