In an Instagram video, the 41-year-old showed herself riding an electric scooter through her house. "Got some new wheels," she wrote. "I won't be any faster, but it's better than a wheelchair." Regarding the vehicle, the American woman added, "I call it Speedy."
The clip shows Vonn using a scooter to maneuver from the kitchen, past the wheelchair, into another part of the house. Her left knee and leg, as well as her right ankle, are supported by a brace.
Left knee and right ankle in a splint
Vonn suffered a complex fracture of her left tibia in a heavy fall during the Winter Olympics in Cortina d'Ampezzo. As she later described, only emergency surgery prevented amputation. She also broke her right ankle in the accident and is therefore unable to put weight on it. Nevertheless, she was seen again this past weekend doing light strength training.
