Love is perfect: Olympic ski champion has married

During her career she was one of the most famous skiers in the world, and now Frida Hansdotter has celebrated a very big personal highlight.

"15 years together. I think there is no better way to celebrate: we just got married!" With these romantic words and a sweet photo, Frida Hansdotter revealed her wedding secret. The 38-year-old Swedish slalom Olympic champion said "I do" to her long-term boyfriend Richard Jansson last weekend - thus making her personal family happiness perfect.

Hansdotter, who has made it to the podium 38 times in her career, already has two children with her husband Richard. The Swede gave birth to a daughter in January of this year, and her first-born son is three years old. Now Hansdotter and the love of her life have tied the knot. "I'm so happy that I have my own little family. When did I get so old?" wrote the 38-year-old with a wink on Instagram.

Hansdotter is one of the best slalom skiers in recent history. The Scandinavian experienced her absolute highlight at the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, when she won the gold medal in a dramatic slalom and crowned her career. With this triumph, she also refuted her less than glamorous reputation as the "eternal runner-up".

Lots going on in life afterward

Hansdotter has been retired from skiing since March 2019 and has started a beautiful family. The Swede has also remained loyal to the sport. Hansdotter has been part of the Athletes' Commission of the International Olympic Committee since 2022, which is why she was also present at the Summer Games in Paris.
