Lindsey Vonn's outfit makes waves

Even though the ski season is still a long way off, Lindsey Vonn is making headlines with a daring dress and an underwear mishap.

Ski queen Lindsey Vonn loves the big stage. Whether on the slopes or on the red carpet, the American feels completely at home in the spotlight. A few days ago, the 40-year-old attended the ESPY gala in Los Angeles, where her outfit became the talk of the town.

Vonn arrived in a long dress that stood out with a long, daring side slit. As the ski queen posed for photographers, the dress was put to the test – the wind briefly exposed Vonn's underwear. Her sister, Karin Kildow, quickly rushed to her aid and fixed the dress.

This "panty flash," as it was later dubbed by numerous media outlets, certainly caused quite a stir. Lindsey Vonn couldn't understand it. In an Instagram story, she spoke out and rebuked her critics: "For those who didn't get it... the underwear is part of the look."

Vonn has fun at the party

A short time later, however, the daring outfit was swapped, and at the gala itself, Vonn wore a silver full-body dress. Incidentally, the ski queen walked away empty-handed from the awards, which are organized annually by the ESPN media group for America's best athletes. "Didn't win, but definitely had fun," wrote the skier, who hopes to shine on the big stage next winter—namely, at the Olympic Games.
