Dominik Paris declared himself fit.

Let's go: Dominik Paris gives the green light

The new speed season begins on Thursday evening with the Super-G in Copper Mountain. Dominik Paris will also be competing.

Three days after injuring his left ankle and following intensive physiotherapy, the Ultental native and his team decided he would participate in the opening race of the speed season. On Wednesday, Paris laced up his ski boots and completed a few runs – without taking any painkillers. The 36-year-old found that his ankle wasn't causing him too much trouble.

The slope in the US state of Colorado is in excellent condition. A total of nine Italians will be at the starting gate – including the three South Tyroleans Dominik Paris (bib number 15), Christof Innerhofer (31) and Florian Schieder (53). All eyes are on the... Aleksander Aamodt Kilde's comeback (22) directed. The Swiss are considered the top favorites – especially Marco Odermatt (11).

The program in Copper Mountain (USA):

Thursday: Men's Super-G (19 p.m.)
Friday: Men's Giant Slalom (18/21 p.m.)
Saturday: Women's Giant Slalom (18/21 p.m.)
Sunday: Women's Slalom (18/21 p.m.)
