Manfred Mölgg starts at the city event in Moscow

From 17 p.m. (CET) the city event on the mega ramp will be about World Cup points. The “Azzurri” are sending a two-man team to the Russian capital. In addition to Stefano Gross, Manfred Mölgg from Enneberg was also called up.

The FIS points are distributed as follows: The riders who are eliminated in the first round receive 15 points, the quarter-finalists 30, the fourth place 60, the third place 60 and the second place 80. The winner, however, receives 100 points and prize money of 100.000 Swiss franc.

In addition to the twelve best slalom riders of the current season, the best four of the current overall ranking also qualify, although host Russia can claim one place in any case - in this case at the expense of the twelfth slalom rider. If a driver forgoes a start, the next one does not automatically move in, but rather the corresponding country can have the starting place and send another athlete into the race.

Numerous rejections

The city event, on the other hand, had to accept a high number of cancellations because the first World Cup competition is already scheduled to take place in a week. In the women's category, Lindsey Vonn and last year's winner Julia Mancuso (both USA) are missing, with Maria Höfl-Riesch, Viktoria Rebensburg, Lara Gut, Elisabeth Görgl, Anna Fenninger, Kathrin Zettel and the injured Marlies Schild missing seven other qualified runners. The situation is similar for men. Here Svindal, Kjetil Jansrud, Ted Ligety, Hannes Reichelt, Mario Matt, Manfred Pranger and last year's winner Alexis Pinturault canceled.
