South Tyrolean women miss the podium As the best South Tyrolean, Vera Tschurtschenthaler (Sexten/Army Sports Group) took fifth place in the slalom, which counts towards the Italian Championships. The 27-year-old, who was also in fifth place after the first run, lost 0,56 seconds to Rossetti and missed a medal by 0,22 seconds.

“I am not entirely satisfied with the result. The first run was okay, also because my gap to the leader was limited. But I had more planned for the decision. Unfortunately, I was no longer able to handle the piste conditions very well due to the very warm temperatures. But it was still a great race, I especially like the slopes and the organization went smoothly - compliments to the organizers at ASV Schnals.”

Vivien Insam from Val Gardena (police sports group), who had recently made people take notice with some good results, came seventh as the second best local racer - although the 26-year-old from Ladin was in poor health and therefore skipped the second round of the giant slalom on Wednesday in order to take it easy .

Now it's the gentlemen's turn The Italian Championships in Schnalstal have come to an end for the female racers. However, from Friday their male colleagues will be on duty. First, the national champions will be crowned in the slalom, before the decision for the “Scudetto” in the giant slalom will be made on Saturday.
