After baby happiness: Svindal's fiancée amazes

Former ski superstar Aksel Lund Svindal enjoys family life to the fullest. Now his fiancée is making headlines.

Aksel Lund Svindal was once one of the most successful skiers in the world, but he has now found family happiness in his sporting retirement. With the Norwegian athlete Amalie Iuel he forms a dream couple for his country. Last September the two became parents to their son Storm, and they got engaged a month later.

While Svindal ended his career a few years ago and is now immersed in various other projects, his Amalie is causing quite a stir. The 29-year-old doesn't want to know about the end of her career after the birth of her son and has now announced a comeback.

The 400-meter hurdler, who is 12 years younger than Svindal, will compete in her first competition since August 22, 2022 in Kenya at the end of April. This was announced by the Norwegian Athletics Association. Seven months after giving birth, Iuel returns to the sports stage and has ambitious goals: She wants to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris.

After a strenuous training session there is family time.

“Going to the Olympics ten months after giving birth would be a big bonus. “But everything has to be right,” says the Norwegian. Amalie Iuel only proved at the beginning of February that family life can be combined with a sporting career. At a ten-day training camp in Tenerife with the Norwegian team, their son Storm and her fiancé Aksel came along.
