After fall: Great concerns for Clement Noel

The first run of the giant slalom in Val-d'Isère took place in snow flurries and difficult piste conditions. There was also a prominent victim.

Clement Noel has won the two slaloms so far this year. However, the Frenchman will probably not be able to start in his home race on Sunday. Noel had a serious fall in the first run of the giant slalom on Saturday: he got stuck when he changed his momentum, crashed into the gate and then into the advertising boards and the safety nets.

It seems that Noel has injured his ankle. The 27-year-old was able to get up on his own, but complained of pain. We can only hope that Noel has not suffered a serious injury. The loss of the best slalom skier of the moment would be the next big name missing from the Ski World Cup.

The giant slalom is certainly not Noel's discipline. The 2022 Olympic slalom champion has only managed to make it into the points once so far. The report on the first run in Val-d'Isère, which took place in difficult conditions, can be found .
