Austria dominates the European Cup

This Friday, European Cup races were scheduled for both men and women. Austrian athletes won every time. However, the Azzurri also managed to impress.

The first downhill race in St. Moritz was clearly dominated by the Austrians. Nadine Fest won ahead of her compatriot Carmen Spielberg (+0,40 hundredths) and the Swiss Janine Schmitt (+0,93). Sara Allemand was the best Azzurra with sixth place (+1,15 seconds), followed by Giulia Albano. Seventh place was her best downhill result on the continental course.

The balance of power did not change in the second race. This time, however, Carmen Spielberg took the win. Nadine Fest (+0,17 seconds) and Janine Schmitt (+0,47) completed the podium. Best Azzurra Sara Allemand, who finished the race in fifth place.

Azzurro finishes third

Austria also had reason to celebrate in the men's race. Vincent Wieser won the European Cup Super-G in Santa Caterina Valfurva ahead of his compatriot Felix Hacker (+ 0,17 seconds) and the Azzurro Benjamin Jacques Alliod (+ 0,18). The best South Tyrolean was Max Perathoner from Val Gardena with 19th place (+ 0,94).
