Petra Vlhova separates from her star coach

Mauro Pini is no longer Petra Vlhova's coach. The team of the still-convalescent Slovakian has announced the end of its collaboration with the Ticino native.

As the successor to Italian Livio Magoni, Pini worked alongside the Slovakian for four years, leading her to Olympic gold in the slalom three years ago, among other achievements. Previously, Pini had served as the private coach of Lara Gut-Behrami, among others.

29-year-old Petra Vlhova was unable to compete in the recently concluded season. The healing of the cruciate ligament tear in her right knee is still not progressing as planned. This is due to cartilage problems that required further surgery a few days ago.
