Race canceled: No Super-G in St. Moritz

There was a long wait and a lot of trepidation, but ultimately the women's Super-G in St. Moritz had to be cancelled.

This is also the Ski World Cup! On Saturday, the speed ladies had perfect weather in the first Super-G in St. Moritz. 24 hours later, things look completely different. The second Super-G of the weekend had to be cancelled due to bad weather.

A bad weather front passed over the exclusive ski resort in Switzerland overnight. There was no improvement until Sunday afternoon. Fog and, above all, the strong wind meant that the race was in doubt early on. The Super-G was supposed to take place at 11 a.m., but was postponed several times. At 12 p.m., the International Ski Federation finally issued a communiqué: the race has been cancelled.

Third cancellation this winter

This is the third time this season that a race has had to be cancelled, and the third time it has affected women. The two giant slaloms in Tremblant (Canada) could not be held due to a lack of snow. It is still unclear whether and where the Super-G in St. Moritz will be rescheduled.
