Total damage to the knee: Swiss with an emotional statement

After almost falling at the Super-G in Bormio, Kryenbühl tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Now he has spoken out on Instagram, where he is arguing with his buddy about ski racing: “My head is so full and yet so empty I travel around the world. My last poem written 15 years ago when, oh ski racing, we were still friends.”

“Goods?” you ask me! I say: “Isn’t that surprising to you?” - “Look here Urs, you’ve made a lot of friends here, discovered places, celebrated successes and much more. Don’t you think you should be grateful to me?” the Swiss asked himself.

With a poem, Kryenbühl describes his relationship with his ski racing brother, with whom he went through many ups and downs and achieved one or two miracles. “Like brothers, we are united oh ski racing, happiness and suffering along the way. In 2021, he suffered a torn cruciate ligament and medial ligament in his right knee as well as a broken collarbone and a concussion in a terrible fall during the finish jump on the Streif in Kitzbühel. In January 2022, he suffered a pelvic injury in a European Cup Super-G in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The 28-year-old will initially undergo conservative treatment following his next cruciate ligament injury; another assessment of his condition will take place from mid-February.

After another setback, Kryenbühl does not want to give up and is not thinking about resigning. He is fighting the injury and is already thinking about returning to racing. “Just a crack” “Quite simply,” I will say, “another cruciate ligament tear has occurred.” It sounds strange, but it is true, and I am grateful for a lot of things and also happy! Not everyone is allowed to have a life like this, but you can endure some pain from time to time. I'm sticking with it, oh ski racing, staying positive as I often do. Were you hoping I was down? - Let me show you, look forward and rely on familiar healing methods. The plan now is to “take a leisurely rest” and stay confident and motivated to go the extra mile with full enthusiasm.”

Finally, he thanked all the positive news and messages: “Now I'm standing there with my head held high, I'm positive and in a good mood. It's all about good vibes my friends, have a good start to the new year and rest assured, life goes on because it's just a crack."
