After the speed weekend in St. Moritz, the technically gifted skiers will return to action at the Courchevel night slalom on Tuesday (5:45 p.m./8:45 p.m.). Mikaela Shiffrin is the woman to beat at the 2023 World Championship venue. The exceptional American athlete is undefeated in slalom in four races across seasons.
While Petra Vlhova remains sidelined with injury and other top skiers like globe winner Zrinka Ljutic and Katharina Liensberger are struggling to find their rhythm this season, Shiffrin is currently playing with the competition. Her lead over the second-place finisher in the three races so far in her signature discipline has been 1,66, 1,23, and 1,57 seconds. If Shiffrin stays healthy, the only question at the prestigious French ski resort will likely be how dominant her 105th World Cup victory will be. It would be her 68th in slalom.
