Shiffrin's declaration of love: "Every second with you..."

“Every second with you makes me breathe for days”: With this romantic quote, Shiffrin heralds a love letter for her Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. The Norwegian had a serious fall in Wengen on Saturday and had to undergo surgery in Bern, where he was visited and cared for by his Mikaela. Three days later, the American raced to her 94th World Cup victory in Flachau.

“It feels like I have lived a thousand lives in the past four days. And I’m not the one who fell into a safety net at 120 km/h,” says Shiffrin, referring to Kilde’s fall. “I can't describe how much joy and energy Aleks brings into my life. Seeing him fall so badly on TV, rushing the family to the hospital while he was being operated on - and then finally seeing him wake up hours later and repeat in complete confusion: 'I destroyed myself.'
