Victory at the end: Nadia Delago can smile again

At the European Cup final in Kvitfjell, Norway, the season finale of the second highest international racing series, Nadia Delago struck – and how! In the downhill she left all her competitors behind and celebrated her fourth victory in the European Cup, the first in more than five years.

The 2022 Olympic medalist stopped the timing at 1:23,33 minutes. This made her four hundredths faster than the Austrian Magdalena Egger. It was only on Wednesday that Nadia's older sister, Nicol Delago, made people sit up and take notice with the fourth best time during training for the last World Cup downhill in Saalbach . So it seems as if a difficult season for the Delago sisters is coming to an end with a clear upward trend.

She also climbed onto the podium in third place in the Kvitfjell downhill on Thursday and thus secured a permanent starting place in the coming World Cup season. The 19-year-old from Ortisei secured second place in the European Downhill Cup with her fourth podium finish this winter.

The men also had their last downhill run of the 2023/24 European Cup season on Thursday. The Swiss Livio Hiltbrand won this ahead of Nicolò Molteni from Lombardy. Maximilian Ranzi (Lana) collected more points in 18th place. The season finale in Norway will conclude on Friday with the Super-G races.
