Ski mom cancels her comeback
An Austrian podium rider actually wanted to return to the big stage at the World Cup in Beaver Creek after her maternity leave. But that didn't happen.

In March 2023, Tamara Tippler was on the icy slopes of the World Cup for the last time, and six months later she gave birth to her daughter Mia. For the 33-year-old, however, this was no reason to end her career; rather, the Austrian has been working diligently on her comeback in recent months.
This weekend, everything would have been set up for that in the USA. But Tippler ultimately decided against starting in Beaver Creek. "I'm not quite good enough as a skier to leave the start house with complete confidence," she explained. "I don't have my things together yet, as they should be. We're competing in the World Cup, not in a fun race."
The next chance to return will be shortly before Christmas. On December 21 and 22, two Super-G races are scheduled in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
Tippler made her debut in the World Cup 13 years ago, and in 2016 she landed on the podium for the first time. In total, the Styrian made it onto the podium ten times, but never made it to the top. "I have the feeling that I'm not finished with ski racing yet," Tippler told the Swiss View. "I want to give him another chance."
