Ski couple deeply in love: “We are soul mates”

In love, engaged, married: Two former ski stars recently celebrated their big day and are now addressing their fans with emotional lines.

It was the dream wedding in the ski circus this summer. Marie-Michèle Gagnon and her long-time boyfriend Travis Ganong got married in mid-July. The two former ski stars tied the knot at Lake Tahoe, an idyllic lake in California - in front of a lot of ski celebrities, mind you. Federica Brignone, Ilka Stuhec and Bernadette Schild are just a few of the big names who celebrated with the dream couple in the USA.

Now, a month after the wedding, the bride Marie-Michèle Gagnon has posted emotional lines on Instagram. "A moment that exceeded all expectations," wrote the two-time World Cup winner alongside romantic wedding photos. "We feel so lucky to have found a soul mate in each other."

Marie-Michèle Gagnon and Travis Ganong were the dream couple in the skiing circus for years. She won two World Cup races, he became vice world champion in the downhill in 2015. They retired together in spring 2023, have been traveling the world ever since and have now tied the knot.

Everything was perfect

"The celebration," says Gagnon, "was made even more special by all of our wonderful family and friends who brought such positive energy to the wedding week. And all of that was combined with a wind and rain event, a full moon, great food, great music and the most authentic location that represented us as a couple (White Wolf)."

The loving ski couple has now embarked on a new adventure: the two were recently on a sailing trip on Lake Tahoe. Ski retirement can be so wonderful.
