This is what the weather will be like at the Ski World Championships

The weather gods are likely to be kind to the 2025 Alpine Ski World Championships, which begin on Tuesday in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Fans can look forward to good weather.

Overall, the general weather situation offers the organizers very good prospects, said a forecast by the GeoSphere Austria regional office in Salzburg/Upper Austria on Monday.

There will generally be a "high pressure dominance" over the next two weeks, and if anything, only small lows with clouds and light precipitation are to be expected on a few days. This will initially affect next Thursday and Friday.

Super-G races could be affected

The women's and men's Super-G races will take place on these two days. It is not yet clear whether there will be fresh snow and how heavy it will be. However, according to the GeoSphere forecast, visibility on the mountain is likely to be impaired by thicker clouds. It may therefore be necessary to adjust the start times.

"By Saturday, this should be over," said GeoSphere Austria, adding that there would then be a stronger high pressure influence with plenty of sunshine. In general, "very little of note" will happen in Saalbach in the days up to February 16. Temperatures will be above zero during the day, and it should cool down considerably at night.
