“I love life with you”: Ski star on cloud nine

Summer, sun—and lots of love. That's currently the motto of Wendy Holdener, who is on cloud nine in her private life.

She has been one of the world's best skiers for years, landing on the podium no fewer than 54 times in the World Cup and winning a whopping nine World Championship medals. But off the slopes, Wendy Holdener hasn't always had an easy time recently.

The Swiss skier's fate shook the skiing world last year, as her brother Kevin – with whom she had a very close relationship – died of cancer in February 2024. "To continue living without you breaks my heart," Holdener wrote at the time, ending her season early after the tragedy.

The friend as a great support

Her family was a great support during this time – and especially her boyfriend Remy, with whom Holdener has been in a relationship for four years. The Swiss skier addressed a very special declaration of love to him on his birthday: "You're not getting older, you're just getting upgrades," Holdener wrote alongside a photo of them together.

He continued: "I love life with you! Thank you for all the wonderful laughs and happy moments. Happy birthday." The Swiss woman is on cloud nine with her Remy. The two made their relationship public in May 7, with a special sentence: "Nothing was sought, everything was found," Holdener wrote at the time alongside a photo together. The two complement each other perfectly: Remy, like Wendy, is a sports fanatic and played ice hockey as a junior. Today, he works in tourism – and is Wendy's biggest fan.
