From the slopes to the station: ÖSV driver becomes a police officer

An Austrian ski professional announced the end of his career on Tuesday - and also revealed his future plans.

The Lower Austrian Marc Digruber announced the end of his alpine skiing career at a press conference in St. Pölten on Tuesday. The 35-year-old has competed in 2010 World Cup races since 94, six of which the slalom specialist finished in the top ten. There were also three European Cup victories and two national titles. The only drawback: he missed a podium place in the World Cup.

“I'm looking forward to spending time with my family and will be in Scheibbs (Lower Austria, Note d. Red.) switch to the police service,” said Digruber. Coaching also appeals to him. Last season, Digruber only played in the European Cup. He achieved two more podium places.
