For 19 years (!), since 2006, Christof Innerhofer has come to Val Gardena every December to compete in World Cup races. And every year he celebrates his birthday there at the team hotel Dosses in Santa Cristina. On Wednesday, he turned 41.

In contrast to other years, where he was celebrated with a "Happy Birthday" amidst the cheers of many fans in the finish area, the number of well-wishers on Wednesday was more modest.
