Two Azzurri rocked the Saslong

The most successful athlete at the 58th Saslong Classic is Marco Odermatt. As the racer with the most points, Odermatt can celebrate winning the Val Gardena South Tyrol Ski Trophy for the second time, after his first victory in 2024. But the Italian skiers are also in the mix at the top.

First place in the sprint downhill, second place in the Super-G, and second place in the classic downhill: With these three results, Odermatt became the most successful athlete of the Val Gardena XXL race week. The Swiss skier amassed a total of 260 World Cup points in the speed triple on the Saslong, clearly relegating the winner of the classic downhill, Franjo von Allmen, to second place. The downhill world champion, who crashed out of the Super-G and finished without points, scored 180 points.

Behind the two Swiss athletes, Giovanni Franzoni (Italy/114) and Nils Allègre (France/113) finished third and fourth in this special ranking. The best South Tyrolean was Dominik Paris from Ultental, who left Val Gardena with 106 points.

Several additional bonuses for Odermatt

As the winner of the Val Gardena South Tyrol Ski Trophy, Odermatt receives a life-size 3D wooden bust, extra prize money of €5.000, a short break in Val Gardena, and an ascent of the Sassolungo accompanied by a local mountain guide. The Swiss skier can redeem this last prize even after his retirement.

2. Franjo von Allmen (SUI) 180
3. Giovanni Franzoni (ITA) 114
