It was a moment for the skiing history books: Last fall, superstar Marcel Hirscher made a sensational comeback five years after retiring, delighting the World Cup world. However, the eight-time overall World Cup winner's return was cut short: In December, Hirscher tore his cruciate ligament and was forced to end his season early.
Since then, there have been questions surrounding the ski champion. What does Hirscher's future hold? Will he attempt a comeback after this serious injury? Or is this the end of it for the skiing legend? Hirscher has remained vague about this in recent weeks, but now he's giving his fans hope with a statement. "I like," said the 36-year-old on the TV show Sports and talk from Hangar-7 of ServusTV.

This means that Hirscher is flirting with the possibility of another comeback. "Every day is getting better. Today, for example, I was able to take my first steps. Doctors say I'll be able to make my first turns in September, even though I can't imagine that happening right now," said the Austrian, who competes for the Netherlands.
However, Hirscher also puts the brakes on. "I would have liked to have reported more. A few pieces of the puzzle are already in place, but a few mosaic pieces are still missing. There are still a few rumors about what will happen with the wildcard. I like that. But a few details still need to be clarified." A possible comeback 2.0 for Marcel Hirscher – it will continue to occupy the skiing world in the coming weeks.
