Simone Deromedis back on the podium

Simone Deromedis also climbed onto the podium at the second Ski Cross World Cup race.

Deromedis confirms his podium finish in Val Thorens (France): In the second race of the season's opening stage, the Trentino native finished second behind Canadian Kevin Drury. One day after his sixth career World Cup victory, the 25-year-old climbed onto the podium for the 18th time and retained the overall leader's jersey.

In the final, Deromedis managed the heavy traffic at the start well, but Drury put on an outstanding move, overtaking the Italian and driving towards victory. In the closing stages, Deromedis fended off the comeback of Austrian Tristan Takats and defended second place in a photo finish.

Dominik Zuech from South Tyrol was eliminated again in the round of 16. Yanick Gunsch, on the other hand, had already failed to qualify.
