Prevc achieves the double – Insam disqualified

The World Cup stage in Wisla (Poland) ended for Italy's ski jumpers after the first round.

After a good qualifying round, Giovanni Bresadola from Trentino had to settle for 48th place as the best Italian, missing out on points. Alex Insam from Val Gardena was disqualified after his first jump due to irregularities with his suit.

The day's winner was Slovenian Domen Prevc, who prevailed with a 0,9 point lead over Ryoyu Kobayashi and German newcomer Philipp Raimund.

Prevc thus became a double winner in Poland; the now eleven-time World Cup winner only narrowly prevented Kobayashi's 37th World Cup victory on Sunday.

“I showed some great jumps today, and yesterday I figured out what I need to do here,” said Prevc, who thus travels to Klingenthal as the overall World Cup leader. He leads his compatriot Anze Lanisek by 32 points.
