Seriously injured: Italy's ski jumping hope unlucky

The Italian ski jumper Giovanni Bresadola was seriously injured in his fall in Planica. Together with the South Tyrolean Alex Insam, Bresadola formed the “hard core” of the ski jumping Azzurri.

In an Instagram post, the 23-year-old wrote about injuries to his left cruciate ligament and meniscus after an MRI scan. “An operation and a long summer await me,” Bresadola wrote alongside a photo from his hospital bed. On Saturday, after a flight of 226 meters, he lost stability in his left knee immediately after jumping up and hit his head at high speed.

Bresadola initially remained lying on the huge Planica flight facility and was treated by paramedics at the exit of the huge facility. Paramedics then took him to the hospital. Bresadola, who now has a long break, would have qualified for the final flight this Sunday (9.30:XNUMX a.m.). On Thursday, Finn Eetu Nousiainen tore his cruciate ligament in a fall.
