Lost gold, won money for Wellinger
Andreas Wellinger beamed like a little child. Just two weeks after his silver medal in Trondheim, the Olympic champion became the first German to win the Raw Air Tour in Norway, thus giving ski jumpers their first title of this challenging winter.

"It feels so awesome to finally be at the top again," said Wellinger. "It was a truly awesome weekend." After his daily victory on Saturday, a second-place finish with 230,5 meters in the Vikersund ski jump, which was marked by massive wind delays, was enough for him to secure the overall victory, endowed with €60.000, in the Scandinavian equivalent of the Four Hills Tournament.
The day's victory went to the outstanding Slovenian Domen Prevc (247 meters), who had fallen on Saturday. Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi, who flew 222 meters, completed the podium. Alex Insam from Val Gardena had to settle for 45th place.
These have been turbulent weeks for Wellinger. After a weak start to 2025, he recently took second place in the World Championships singles, a complete surprise. What was supposed to be a great success later took on a sour taste: World champion Marius Lindvik was suspended after the World Championships because his Norwegian team had intentionally tampered with suits. The 29-year-old Bavarian felt somehow robbed of a golden moment in Trondheim.
