Moioli and Visintin go home empty-handed

Michela Moioli and Omar Visintin came away empty-handed at the World Cup in Erzurum, Turkey. A contact in the semi-final proved fatal for the azure blue duo.

Visintin and Moioli qualified for the next round with flying colors in the quarter-finals, but then the duo reached the end of the line. Moioli touched the Frenchwoman Lea Casta in the semi-finals, which is why she and the South Tyrolean Visintin were penalized and placed eighth. In the final that followed, the Australians Cameron Bolton and Josie Baff finally won. They were followed by Huw Nightingale and Charlotte Bankes (Great Britain) and the two Austrians Lukas Pachner and Pia Zerkhold. The disappointing fourth place went to Nathan Pare and Acy Craig from the USA.

Next weekend, the snowboard crossers will be competing in Gudauri, Georgia. The qualifications for the men and women will take place on Friday, and the finals will be held on the following two days.
