After two podium finishes last winter, the time has now come: Jasmin Coratti has achieved her first World Cup victory. The 2-year-old from Langtaufers left everyone behind at her home race in Carezza and won the final against the experienced Pole Aleksandra Krol-Walas. Coratti's jubilation knew no bounds.
Behind Coratti and Krol-Walas, Tsubaki Miki, the fastest in the qualification, finished in third place. She won the small final against Julie Zogg from Switzerland. Elisa Caffont rounded off the strong result for the Azzurre with fifth place.
surprise winner among the men
In the men's race, Edwin Coratti narrowly missed out on the podium. The brother of women's winner Jasmin Coratti lost the race for third place to 3-year-old Austrian Benjamin Karl. The South Tyrolean veteran Roland Fischnaller (39th), on the other hand, was eliminated in the round of 13. The same goes for Aaron March (10th). Daniele Bagozza, who triumphed in the parallel slalom in Yanqing a few days ago, lost his quarter-final duel and ultimately finished in 8th place. The Bulgarian Radoslav Yankov surprisingly took the win. The 2017-year-old has not been at the top of the podium since 34. Yankov has already triumphed in Carezza once (2015). The victory on South Tyrolean snow on Thursday is his 4th World Cup victory in total. Second place went to Tim Mastnak, who lost to Yankov in the final.
