The Olympic ski jumps are finished

Italy once again has a ski jumping facility that meets international standards. After the Olympic ski jumps in Predazzo were completed in recent months, they were finally opened – in the presence of many South Tyrolean athletes.

Annika Sieff was the first athlete to test the new large ski jumping hill in Predazzo. The ski jumper was full of praise for the facility, which has a hill size of 143 meters: "It's great to see the finished facility. The inrun ramp and landing hill are in great condition. I'm looking forward to training on this hill."

In addition to Sieff, other athletes from the Italian national ski jumping team and the Nordic combined team were also present. Also present were South Tyrolean athletes Alex Insam, Samuel Costa, Aaron Kostner, Leonie Runggaldier, Lara Malsiner, Jessica Malsiner, and Anna Oberhofer.

“This facility offers tremendous opportunities.” Flavio Roda, FISI President

FISI President Flavio Roda was also present at the official opening ceremony. He emphasized the importance of high-quality infrastructure for sport in Italy: "It evokes great emotions in me when I see our athletes jumping on this new facility. This structure here in Predazzo has turned out magnificently and offers all Italian athletes who rely on ski jumps a fantastic opportunity to improve in the coming years."

First competition in September

In addition to the large hill (HS143), there is also a normal hill (HS109), which was inaugurated by Jacopo Bortolas with his maiden jump. The first competition will take place on this hill on September 18. The FIS Nordic Summer Festival will then kick off in Predazzo. The Nordic Summer Festival includes ski jumping, roll-skiing, and combined competitions, which will take place in the Fiemme Valley from September 18 to 21.

The first winter sports event at the new facility in Predazzo will take place on December 23rd, as part of the Italian Championships (with ski jumpers and Nordic combined athletes).
